Service Overview

SJLS provides services to victims of civil rights violations. SJLS provides services in cases involving violations of State and Federal anti-discrimination laws, including but not limited to matters involving the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD), Titles VIII and IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Services include advice and representation in lawsuits and/or administrative actions when appropriate. SJLS provides assistance in cases involving all types of discrimination, including but not limited to discrimination based upon disability, source of lawful rental income, race, age, national origin, sex, ancestry, familial status, religion, gender identity or expression, and/or sexual orientation.
